KYC Verification Flow

In some cases, the payer must complete KYC verification to finish the payment. If a transaction is flagged as high-risk or matches other triggers defined in our AML policy, the payment status changes to On Hold with the condition KYC Required.

On the Bitnbox-hosted checkout page, the payer must provide an email address and upload identity and address verification documents. Email notifications are sent to the payer to indicate whether verification was successful or if a resubmission is required.

When the payment status changes, Bitnbox sends a webhook containing:

• status: On Hold

• checkout_url: link to the hosted checkout page

• condition: verification status

Possible values for the condition field:

• KYC Required – verification is required before funds can be credited

• KYC Pending – documents submitted; verification in progress

Webhooks After Verification

Once verification is approved, the payment status updates to Paid or Locked, and a corresponding webhook is sent.

Regional Restrictions

Due to AML policy requirements, we cannot process funds from users in restricted jurisdictions. Payers from these regions will not be able to complete KYC verification.
