Introduction

KuCoin Pay is a crypto payment solution developed by the KuCoin exchange that enables users and merchants to make fast, secure, and cost-efficient cryptocurrency payments. To make a payment, a customer must have a verified KuCoin account.

Key Features

• No wallet addresses required

  KuCoin Pay does not require blockchain wallet addresses. Payments are processed internally within the KuCoin ecosystem using QR codes and KuCoin accounts.

• Flexible payment currency

  Customers can pay in any supported currency. The merchant receives the exact amount and currency specified in the payment request, with KuCoin Pay handling the conversion automatically.

• Instant off-chain payments

  KuCoin Pay processes payments off-chain, enabling near-instant confirmation without blockchain network congestion.

• Accurate payment amount

  This method ensures that the customer sends only the exact required amount, eliminating both underpayments and overpayments.

Restricted Locations

KuCoin Pay is not available in the following regiosn:

• United States of America (including its territories such as Puerto Rico, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, etc)

• Singapore

• Thailand

• Mainland China

• Hong Kong

• Malaysia

• Ontario, Canada

• Countries subject to international sanctions (in accordance with sanctions regimes and legislation applicable to KuCoin) and Bitnbox prohibited jurisdictions.

How to receive a payment

Customer Side

1. The customer must have a KYC-verified KuCoin account.

2. When placing an order, the customer selects KuCoin Pay as the payment method.

3. The merchant displays a QR code.

4. The customer:

   • Opens the KuCoin mobile app

   • Scans the QR code

   • Selects the payment currency

   • Confirms the transaction with their payment password

5. The payment is completed instantly.

How to make a payout

There are two ways to make an outgoing transaction via Kucoin Pay: API and App.

• API: works the same way as direct payout. Instead of a wallet address, a recipient must provide KuCoin UID, which can be found on the "Account information" page on Kucoin.

• App

  1. First, you need to add a new payout method. Payout tab > Payout Methods > Add Method.

  2. To send the funds go to Payout tab > New Payout. Choose a currency, the Kucoin Pay network, and the previously added payout method.
